## **World & Premise**

Set in the dark fantasy realm of **Vaelora**, the story follows **Princess Telaryn**, heir to the fallen Kingdom of Talpis. The once-proud nation was rapidly conquered by the **Temerian Empire** in a swift winter campaign. With the capital fallen and her court scattered or slain, Telaryn flees into the wild northlands to seek the power of her forgotten bloodline—and a way to reclaim her kingdom.

|
||
The land is bound by **spirits**, ancient **pre-Shattering relics**, and **forbidden blood sorcery**. Throughout her journey, Telaryn confronts not only an empire, but the haunting legacy of a forebear known only as the **Nameless Queen**, whose soul lingers in a cursed blade.

### **Act 1: The Fall**

- The group reaches **Winter’s Edge**, a ruined fortress-city turned refugee haven.

||

- Meanwhile, **Marcas**, a grim legate of the Empire, tracks her path using blood sorcery.

- **Who he is:** A young palace guard, once naive, shaped by loss and war.
|
||
|

- **Current state:** Steeled by Enric’s death and the ruin of his homeland. Sees Telaryn as a symbol of resistance. Loyal, brave, but unaware that his devotion to her may be deeper—and more one-sided—than he understands.
|
||
|
||

|
||
- **Who he is:** Legate of the Third Legion, a cold tactician loyal to the Empire.
|
||
|
||
- **Current state:** In control of the army pursuing Telaryn. Though not cruel, he is a realist and believes peace comes only through order. Feels something unnatural in Telaryn’s actions and has sent riders after her, despite not knowing why.
|
||
|
||

||

### **🩸 Verrin**
|
||
|
||
- **Who he is:** A blood sorcerer of the Empire, trained in "vital theurgy" by the Anderonian Circle of Magi.
|
||
|
||
- **Current state:** Cold, clinical, and entirely committed to the discipline of state-sanctioned blood magic. Advises Marcas, using prisoners to extract spirits and omens. Perceives Telaryn’s flight as a disruption of the balance, a spiritual anomaly.
|
||
|
||
|
||

## 🏔️ **Current Status**
|

- **Location:** Telaryn’s party is leaving Winter’s Edge and ascending into the **Mourning Peaks**.
|
||
|
||
- **Goal:** To find the **Keep of Ash**, a mythic fortress said to house **Ashmire**, a Doomblade fused with the spirit of her ancestor.
|
||
|
||
- **Themes Moving Forward:** Power vs. humanity, legacy vs. selfhood, the price of becoming what you were meant to be.
