Here’s the final full Akumei Species Tree with the updated Bleeding Void Tier 4 ability:
Akumei Species Tree
Tier 1 (Akumei 1+) (Free pick at character creation)
Choose one:
• Welded Resilience – Your corrupted physiology knits damage rapidly; remove 1 Fatigue or heal 1 Injury at the end of any scene where you were wounded.
• Void-Kissed Soul – You gain +1 die to resist Corruption effects. When you roll a Corruption die, you may ignore the first backlash (1) each session.
• Spirit Whisperer – Gain +1 die to Binding or Attune when negotiating or communing with spirits.
• Fractured Endurance – You may stay conscious at 0 Health for 1 additional round; doing so adds 1 Corruption die.
Tier 2 (Akumei 2+)
• Spirit Weapon – You may channel a bound spirit into a weapon or unarmed strike; once per session, treat your attack as Effectful, bypassing mundane armor.
• Rapid Regeneration – Mark a die as Persistent when resting; on success, heal 1 additional Injury. You may regrow minor lost body parts (fingers, ears) in days instead of weeks.
• Void-Hardened – You gain immunity to the first point of Fatigue from Corruption backlash each session.
• Spirit Armor – When attacked, you may spend 1 APR to let your bound spirit shield you; gain +2 Soak dice for that attack.
Tier 3 (Akumei 3+)
• Echo of the Bonded – When your bonded spirit aids you, you may reroll one failed die per scene.
• Corruption Channel – You may treat a 6 on a Corruption die as 2 successes once per session; failure triggers a roll on the Backlash table.
• Pain Discipline – You may convert 1 Injury you receive into 1 Fatigue instead (once per scene).
• Welded Mutations – You gain one minor beneficial mutation (e.g., claws, void-blackened skin that resists harm, or an extra sense).
Tier 4 (Akumei 4+)
• Spirit Fusion – You may fully merge with a bound spirit for 1 scene: gain +2 dice to all Spirit and Binding rolls and ignore Wounded penalties. At the end, roll Spirit vs difficulty 2 or take 1 Corruption die.
• Void Unbroken – Once per session, you may ignore all Corruption backlash from a roll.
• Revenant’s Vigor – You may regenerate grievous injuries; regain 1 Injury per round for 3 rounds when Wounded. Costs 1 Corruption die to activate.
• Bleeding Void – Once per session, you may deliberately rupture your fractured soul and bleed corruption into the environment:
• All enemies within 5m gain 1 Corruption die and take –2 dice to Spirit rolls for the rest of the scene.
• Allies must roll Spirit vs difficulty 2 or also gain 1 Corruption die.
• The area becomes tainted for days, attracting hostile spirits and void manifestations.
Why It Works
• Tier 1: Establishes void resilience, spirit bonding, and rapid healing as identity.
• Tier 2: Expands into spirit-based weapons and armor, plus enhanced regeneration.
• Tier 3: Introduces more dangerous Corruption channeling and permanent bodily changes.
• Tier 4: Apex powers—fusion with spirits, super-regeneration, and Bleeding Void, which changes the battlefield and the world.
🔥 Do you want me to now:
• Do a quick Tier 1 recap of all species (Tul, Myou, Tlaxcal, Akumei) so you can see all the free-pick options at a glance?
• Or move into next species (e.g., Pharosian or Sacharan focus expansions) to close the Tul subtypes? |
